Fort Lee Public Library

Head of Youth Services | Librarian 3    January 2020 – Present

  • Directs and supervises the operations of the Children’s and Young Adult departments; trains, evaluates and creates assignments for four full time staff and two part time employees
  • Coordinates youth services with other library services and functions, develops and delivers programs that meet the specific needs of children; including story times, summer reading and year round special events in addition to supervising programs delivered by other staff
  • Oversees the development of the Children’s & Young Adult collections
  • Serves as a member of the library’s management team and helps steer the preparation and implementation of library-wide programming, services, policies, and initiatives including strategic planning and plans for renovations
  • Serves as a liaison to schools, preschools, and daycare centers. Coordinates visits to schools as well as other community outreach
  • Promotes use of library collections, programs, and services in-house through promotional materials, press releases for local news organizations, social media, listservs and outreach to local schools and partner organizations
  • Serves as on-site supervisor for all departments when needed
  • Oversees departmental budgets for programs and collections as well as monthly statistics and reports to the Library Board
East Brunswick Public Library

Teen Services Librarian                                     August 2013- December 2019

Facilitating the planning, implementation, and outreach of both teen and programing for 20 & 30somethings. The majority of time being spent on teen programming with everything from monthly teen library clubs, the extensive teen volunteer programs, as well as working closely with the public schools to provide educational services to students, and the East Brunswick recreation departments and other community organizations. Member of the East Brunswick Public Library’s Programming, Readers Advisory, Maker Space and Website committees. Chair of the Library Makerspace Committee.  Overseeing the Library’s young adult print and non-print collection development. Responsible for managing collection and programming budgets. Supervisor of customer service representatives and annual summer employees in the teen department

Interim Adult Services Manager                               July 2017- March 2018

Supervising a staff of seven in the Adult Services and Technical Processing departments.  Overseeing all print and non-print collection development for the adult and teen collections.  Responsible for major decisions that resulted from the current library renovation on new shelving, the creation of a makerspace, and collection details.  Involved in major budgetary decisions for the 2018 fiscal year.  Creation of non-traditional circulating collection policies, procedures, staff training, and processing.

Overseeing the Library’s young adult print and non-print collection development. Manager and creator of all social media marketing strategies, promoting library materials, programs, and services. Working with CMS to update and upkeep the library website. Providing reference services and technical assistance to patrons.

Providing reference services and technical assistance to patrons. Creating and maintaining LibGuides for the library. As the Teen intern, I worked to create programs weekly for teens visiting the library as well as working to maintain the young adult library collection and provide reference help to young adults.
